Libyan Coast Guard rescued 61 illegal immigrants, among them a child off the coast of Zawiya city west of Libya.

The Information Office of the Libyan Coast Guard explained that the migrants were found on a rubber boat 30 miles north-west of Zawiya, noting that they were of Ghanaian, Nigerian, Eritrean, Sudanese, and Egyptian nationalities.

The rescued migrants were disembarked at Tripoli Port and were provided with humanitarian and medical assistance before being transferred to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Authority in Tripoli.
