The Libyan coast guard has rescued 305 migrants of various African nationalities, all of whom were on board three separate boats.

The coast guard received distress calls from those boats during their attempted sailing towards Europe on Monday, immediately deploying its patrols towards them having been equipped with all the necessary equipment and capabilities for the rescue and recovery operation, according to the media office of the Libyan Naval Forces on Tuesday.

The office indicated that the human remains of 15 migrants were recovered from one of the boats, adding that the Anti-Illegal Migration Agency will follow up on the process of caring for the surviving migrants, with a view to completing the procedures for their deportation to their relevant countries.
