Libyan Coast Guard rescued 124 illegal immigrants aboard two wooden boats off the coast of Zuwara, Libyan Maritime spokesman, Ayoub Qassem told the press Wednesday.

The migrants, including 20 children and a woman, were of different Arab, African, and Asian descent, Qassem clarified.

The rescued migrants were disembarked at Tripoli Naval Base and were provided with humanitarian and medical assistance before being transferred to anti-illegal immigration centres in Janzour and Tajoura.
