The fourth Libyan Banking Sector Development Forum started Tuesday, in Tunisia, in the presence of the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Ali Al-Hibri, members of the bank’s board of directors, Amrajaa Ghaith and Mohammed Al-Mukhtar, in addition to a number of banking officials.

The forum includes seven discussion sessions, focusing on the current conditions of the economy in Libya, the role of commercial banks in revitalizing the economy, the role of financial technology in supporting banking products, ways to support small and medium enterprises, and the role of the capital market sector towards activating the sector.

The fourth session of the forum was launched under the honorary chairmanship of the former Minister of Planning, Al-Taher Al-Jahimi, Governor of the Central Bank from 1997 to 2002.
