The Transport Ministry of the Presidential Council is undergoing talks with the European Union to lift the ban on all Libyan airlines in European airspace.

Minister Matouq stated in a press statement on Tuesday that the EU Air Safety had pledged in a meeting in Brussels to send inspectors to Libya to inspect airports and evaluate their technical readiness in terms of safety and security rules and regulations.

The European Union issued a resolution late 2014 banning all Libyan airlines from flying in their airspace because of safety concerns.
