Libyan international judo player Omar Naeli has won the bronze medal in the African Judo Championship hosted by Madagascar after he ousted his opponent from the host country.

Naeli managed to seal bronze in the preliminary round after overtaking the Burkina Faso athlete but lost in the second round against the world-ranked Senegalese judo player.

Naeli won the African gold last year in Cameroon, which is among the world ranked championships.

By achieving this bronze, he adds 350 points upping his career total to 450 points as he awaits the approval of the International Federation tomorrow to confirm whether or not he will qualify for the next Olympics.
