The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, confirmed that Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov is due to welcome his Libyan counterpart, Mohamed Sayala, in Moscow on 30 December.

Zakharova explained that both parties are expected to share opinions on the present situation in Libya, to include efforts to strengthen the ceasefire and assist the political process according to the decisions taken at the Berlin conference, following the relevant Security Council resolutions.

The meeting is set to focus on strengthening Russia’s role in supporting efforts to find a prompt solution to the present situation in Libya, according to Zakharova.
