The Libyan Ambassador to the United Nations, Elmahdi Elmajerbi said that Security Council resolutions on Libya have been breached on several occasions, especially with regard to the political process, the arms embargo and the illegal trade in oil.

In a briefing before the UN Security Council, Elmajerbi explained that some countries were involved in attempts to encroach on frozen Libyan funds, saying that no action had been taken by the UN Security Council against these states.

He also called to stop dealing with parallel bodies, including the east-based Interim Government, pointing out that its continuation poses a threat to the unity of the country and contributes to creating an atmosphere of division between the Libyans, as he put it.
