Libya's UN ambassador, Al-Mahdi Al-Mughrabi, called on Wednesday the international community and the International Criminal Court (ICC) to hold accountable those responsible for crimes committed in Tripoli.

Al-Mughrabi demanded the formation of a committee by the Security Council to investigate the crimes committed by warlord Khalifa Haftar’s militias.

"The Government of National Acord (GNA) urges the Security Council to consider the Libyan situation and make it a priority within its work," Al-Mughrabi said.

He also pointed out to the ability of the Libyan judiciary to prosecute all those involved in crimes since 2011, stressing the justice system is monitoring all violations.
