Libya's Ambassador to Ukraine, Adel Issa, has shut down claims that Libya provided Kyiv with $500 million in support for its war with Russia.

Issa said there is no truth in the news circulated online, indicating that the Libyan embassy would continue to function from the city of Lviv near the Polish border until conditions are conducive to their return to Kyiv.

Last month, Foreign Minister Najla Al-Manqoush received a call from her Ukrainian counterpart, in which he valued Libya's "supportive stance" for his country, describing Libya as Ukraine's "permanent ally and friend," according to a statement by the Foreign Ministry.
