Libyan Airlines spokesman Mohammed Gnewa denied Tuesday the resumption of flights to Mitiga Airport.

"We have received no notice from the Civil Aviation Authority to resume flights from Mitiga Airport," Gnewa said in a press statement, stressing that flights in Mitiga have been limited solely to air ambulance service.

He pointed out that air traffic in Misrata Airport is running smoothly and flight schedule is taking place on a regular basis.

Flights at Mitiga Airport have been suspended since last Friday after an artillery shell landed near the control tower, which led to the transfer of flights to Misrata Airport.
