The Libyan weightlifter Hani Matouq won two gold and one silver medals during his participation in the African Weightlifting Championship held in Mauritius.
More than 15 African countries took part in the championship which saw Matouq take the gold medal for the snatch competition at 146 kg which was five kilos more than his Tunisian rival Rami Bahloul who came second. Matouq took the silver medal in the main lift at 173 kg and a gold one for the total by 319 kg.
