The Libyan Center for Mine Clearance along with the Libyan army demining teams have begun bilateral cooperation with an Italian team specialized in this issue to clear the landmines left by Haftar's militias in south of Tripoli, a statement by the Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.

The ministry explained that the step comes within the framework of cooperation and coordination between Libya and Italy, and after coordination between Foreign Minister, Mohamed Siyala and the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino.

It further indicated that the Government of National Accord (GNA) is seeking diligently to cooperate with several countries, including Turkey, Italy and relevant organizations to help clear the mined areas, in order to secure the safe return of citizens to their homes.
