Minister of Transport Milad Matouq disclosed that traffic fatality in Libya is relatively high compared to other countries in the world, as the average rate of traffic related fatalities indicates 17 per 100,000 people.

During a security meeting in Zawiya city west of Tripoli, under the slogan "Together To Stop The Bloodshed On Roads," Matouq called on all state institutions to contribute to road safety and not limit the task to traffic management and security directorates.

For his part, Interior Minister Fathi Pashagha called on the members of the General Directorate of Traffic to make more efforts to address the problem and maintain road traffic safety.
