The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah stated Sunday, that the production of oil in Libya has risen despite the current security challenges, hitting its highest level in five years.

In his speech to the meeting of the OPEC Monitoring Committee for following the state members of OPEC and other producing countries, Sanallah explained that Libya has increased its crude production to the highest level since July 2013, exceeding one million barrels per day limit, without giving accurate figures of production.

Sanallah refused to comment on the current security situation in Libya, especially of the recent attack on the HQ of the NOC in Tripoli.
