The Ministry of Culture of the Government of National Unity (GNU) has applauded Libya’s accession to the International Publishers Associations, following a temporary membership, lasting three years, praising the efforts made by the Libyan Publishers Association to achieve this stage.

The general assembly of the union voted, by a majority of those attending from the leaders of publishing unions, in favour of Libya’s accession as a permanent member, carrying full membership in the union following its fulfillment of requirements for accession during the three years it served as an observer, according to the ministry’s statement.

The International Publishers Association was founded in 1996 and includes in its membership 86 organizations from a variety of 71 countries, which seek to protect and defend the laws of copyright.
