Chairman of the Presidential Council (PC) Fayez Al-Sarraj agreed with the Prime Minister of Malta Joseph Muscat to resume direct flights between Malta and Libya by the end of the first quarter of this year.

The agreement came on the sidelines of Sarraj's visit to Malta on Wednesday to explore avenues of collaboration between the two countries, among other issues was the illegal immigration file and joint action to combat smuggling, especially fuel smuggling, according to Sarraj press office.

The office clarified that the meeting also included an agreement to encourage communication between the chambers of commerce and industry and the boards of businessmen in both countries, in addition to activating the air transport agreement.
