The Standing Committee on Regulation of Foreign Workers has been officially formed in Tripoli on Thursday.

At a press conference, the Committee said it will review and regulate the foreign labour market and address the difficulties facing the labours’ status according to market needs.

It announced the temporary lifting of restrictions on the nationals of Egypt and Niger to cover the needs of the local market and handle the situation of foreigners who are working in the Libyan market illegally.

The Committee is headed by Ministers of Interior and Labor and the membership of Chief of Intelligence Agency, Chief of Internal Security Agency, and directors of the consular affairs departments of the Ministry of Interior and Aviation Authority, in addition to the Head of Passports, Nationality and Foreigners Affairs Department and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.
