The Interior Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Khaled Mazen, has said that Libya has been engaged in major battles in combating human smuggling networks, to reduce the aggravation of the illegal migration crisis in the Mediterranean.

This came in his speech at the Ministerial Conference on Migration Flow Management held virtually in Lisbon.

Mazen added that the Libyan Coast Guard has achieved good results in controlling and rescuing migrants in the Mediterranean, despite the lack of support, indicating that humanitarian and medical aid was delivered to all migrants, in preparation for their deportation to their countries.
