Libya's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, discussed on Tuesday with his Egyptian counterpart, Muhammad Idris, supporting Libya in the transitional phase to promote lasting peace and stability in the country and the region, through the United Nations Peacebuilding Commission, chaired by Egypt.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed ways to support the Government of National Unity, through UN organizations and bodies specialized in the field of peacebuilding, the Libyan mission to the United Nations said on its Facebook page.

They also touched on files of common interest, ways to support and enhance stability and national security for the two countries, and to identify the priorities and needs required by the transitional phase in Libya to find peaceful solutions away from the conflict.
