The Director of the Security Directorate of Ras Ajdir and heads of the security services of the border, at the Libyan side, have agreed to close the border again until meeting with the Minister of Interior to discuss the latest developments in the area, according to sources at Ras Ajdir crossing-border.

The border was reopened on Sunday after instructions by the Minister of Interior. However, the Libyan authorities closed it again just hours after this decision following information that Libya citizens are still being prevented from reaching cities in northern Tunisia and were subjected to harassment and mistreatment by Tunisian smugglers.

Tunisian smugglers closed the road between Ben Gardane and the rest of the Tunisian cities, in protest against the Libyan authorities for preventing them from smuggling fuel and subsidized goods from Libya to Tunisia.
