Foreign Minister, Mohamed Siyala has expressed his government's desire to bring Chinese companies back to Libya, hoping that the Chinese embassy in Tripoli would reopen as soon as possible.

This came during a meeting with the Chinese assistant foreign minister on the sidelines of the African Union summit in Addis Ababa.

In return, the Chinese official expressed his country's keenness to strengthen relations with Libya. He stressed that the Chinese government considers the Government of National Accord the only legitimate government in Libya, emphasizing there will be no cooperation with other parallel institutions.
