The Foreign Ministry said that the Libyan Mission to the United Nations in New York had addressed a letter to the Security Council requesting the formation of an international fact-finding mission to investigate the violations committed by Haftar's forces during their attack on Tripoli.

The step comes on the instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to investigate the violations, which included the killing and displacement of innocent civilians, destruction of private and public property, the recruitment of children, and the targeting of densely populated neighbourhoods with heavy weapons, according to the media department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
