The Algerian Foreign Minister, Ramtane Lamamra, confirmed that the possibility of holding elections in Libya at the pre-arranged time has become a reliable goal and it merely remains the necessity to complete certain organizational aspects of the process to succeed.

Lamamra indicated in televised statements, that the meeting for support and stability of Libya hosted by Tripoli demonstrated that the Libyan people have taken the initiative, adding that the meeting of neighbouring countries in Algeria was the turning point for the foreign ministers who pledged to come to Tripoli.

He further emphasized the relevance of taking certain measures represented in disarming militias and evacuating foreign forces and mercenaries, reiterating that this should not be at the expense of the security and stability of neighbouring countries and the region in general.
