The UN envoy to Libya Jan Kubis said he hopes the meeting of 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) in Cairo would lead to mutual understanding on mechanisms for the withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya.

Kubis added at the meeting in Cairo on Saturday that the JMC established for peace and political process in the country, saying the meeting and the subsequent gatherings and discussions would be the first steps toward devising a tangible plan for the gradual, balanced and sequenced withdrawal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya through discussions with neighboring countries and Libyan allies.

Kubis hailed the attendance of Chad, Niger and Chad's representatives at the meeting of the JMC in Cairo and their keenness to work toward its plan of withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries with a minimum impact on their countries and the region.
