The UN Envoy to Libya, Jan Kubis, held a meeting during his visit to France with the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian to discuss the situation in Libya, especially in light of recent developments in the region.

According to a statement by the UN Support Mission in Libya, the meeting dealt with the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the full withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries, and ways how the international community can mobilize further support for these processes.

The two sides also stressed the need for further progress in implementing the roadmap approved by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum to hold elections by the end of this year, underscoring that such progress is critical to maintaining peace, security, and stability in Libya and the wider region.
