The Tripoli-based Ministry of Justice has expressed concern over the recent incident of discovering 36 bodies dumped near the town of Abyar.

In a statement on its Facebook page, the Ministry condemned all extrajudicial killings considering it a form of terrorism, adding that this apposes and contradicts the prospects of the Libyan people to establish a state of justice, law and respect for human rights.

It said that it had ordered all the competent authorities, primarily, the Public Prosecutor's Office, to investigate immediately into the crime that drew shock and anger across the nation, expressing its willingness to unfold the incident and bring those responsible to justice in order to consolidate the concepts of the state of law.

36 unidentified bodies were found last Thursday with signs of torture and gunshots in the Dignity Operation’s stronghold town of Abyar, 50 km to the east of Benghazi.
