The Judicial Police confirmed on Monday that the main Mitiga Airport prison, which is run by by the Special Deterrence Force, is under control in cooperation with the SDF.
The Judicial Police assured the families of inmates in a statement that they are safe and did not suffer any harm during the clashes.
It added that the Joint Security Forces pushed back the attack, pointing out that the attackers are aiming to destabilize the security in the capital Tripoli and its suburbs.
