The Health Coordinator of the Committee responsible for the treatment of Libyan cancer patients in Jordan, Walid Jilani, said on Tuesday that the King Hussein Cancer Centre and hospitals in Jordan have stopped receiving new patients from Libya for treatment.

Jilani said in a statement that the suspension came on the basis of complaints received from the hospital regarding the increase in the number of patients, which in turn is causing overcrowding on their wards.

Jilani added that cases received in Jordan before the date of the complaints are still receiving treatment on a continuous basis and are in receipt of the monthly treatment grant.
