Jordanian Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi has described granting Parliament’s confidence to the Government of National Unity (GNU) as an "important step”, saying that Jordan will continue to stand by Libya, supporting all efforts to reach a political solution.

Safadi reaffirmed in a statement his country support for the new leadership, wishing it success in managing the country in the transitional phase and achieving the elections next December.

He also praised international and regional efforts and the will of the Libyan parties that "prevailed in the interests of the homeland" in response to the aspirations of the Libyan people, according to the statement.
