The Committee formed by the House of Representatives (HoR) and the High Council of State (HCS) to lay down a constitutional basis for the elections will hold its second round in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on May 15, according to the Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Libya, Stephanie Williams.

“The head of the HCS, Khaled Al-Mishri, reaffirmed the HCS's commitment to partaking in the second round of meetings of the Joint HoR-HCS Committee in Cairo”, Williams tweeted.

“During our meeting, the Deputy Speaker of the HoR, Fawzi Al-Nuwari, confirmed the HoR’s commitment to taking part in the second round of meetings of the Joint HoR-HCS Committee in Cairo, with the aim of agreeing the necessary constitutional arrangements for taking Libya to national elections as soon as possible”, she added.
