Local council of Jakhira said Monday that the Interim Government's Minister of Economy Munir Aser withdrew his decision to ban exporting dates from Libya after a meeting with the municipality's officials and farmers, who all discussed the bad impact the decision could have on Libya and on their town, which is rich in dates.

The farmers told the minister as well that the exportation of dates to neighboring countries won't affect the Libyan local market in Ramadan.

The minister, in the meantime, ordered the formation of committees from the three municipal councils of the Wahat district to monitor the exportation of dates, without a bad impact on the local market.
