Italian Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, considered the restoration of stability in Libya a priority for his new government.

During his speech at the Italian House of Representatives in Rome, before the vote of confidence to his government, Conte said that his continued and personal commitment to achieving stability in Libya is a sure sign to the importance that Rome attaches to this region of the world.

He pointed out that his frequent visits to Libya come to encourage productive meetings and political relations.
