Four Libyan children suffering serious blood diseases have been sent to receive treatment in Italy, due to the lack of treatment in local medical facilities, the Italian Foreign Ministry confirmed.

"This humanitarian operation came on the initiative of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Emanuela Del Re, who received the children coming from Benghazi, at the Rome Military Airport," the ministry stated.

It clarified that the children were taken to the Children's Hospital in Rome to receive specialized medical treatment, emphasizing the Italian government's support to achieve lasting and sustainable stability in Libya.
