The Italian Foreign Ministry has confirmed the freezing of the fishing agreement, concluded between the Italian National Federation of Fishing Enterprises and the so-called military investment authority of Haftar.
Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio has confirmed the halting of the agreement, during his meeting with his Libyan counterpart, on the sidelines of the UNGA.
The two sides reviewed Italy's efforts in supporting the Libyan Coast Guard and providing the necessary training and equipment to enable them to perform their job to the fullest.
They also discussed the current situation in Tripoli, as well as coordination and consultations, regarding the international conference, to which Germany is preparing.
