Italian Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte has stressed the need for full European consensus to channel the conflict in Libya towards a political solution.

This came during his meeting with German Chancellor, Angela Merkel and French President, Emmanuel Macron, on the sidelines of the European summit in Brussels, where they discussed the situation in Libya.

The leaders emphasized the need for Europe to make its voice heard, stressing the necessity to address foreign actors who are now playing an overt military role in Libya, in terms of equipment, troops, and financial resources.
