Italy backs up Libyan ban on foreign vessels

Italy welcomed Libya’s decision to ban foreign vessels from the search and rescue zone off its coast.

The Italian Foreign Minister said Libya is ready to create a search and rescue zone in its waters in coordination with EU, saying this could lead to balance in the Mediterranean.
