Italian Interior Minister, Marco Minniti, told the press that his country had allocated 200 million euros to combat illegal immigration influx from southern Libya, which is also the southern border crossing for Europe.

He also said that region is where fighting terrorism and human smuggling should take place.

He added that Libya's government should prove its capabilities in controlling its waters and that is why Italy is training Libyan coastguards of Tripoli coast.
