Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio said Wednesday, that excluding Algeria and Tunisia from the Berlin conference would be a "missed opportunity."

"Tunisia and Algeria are very important countries in the fight against terrorism, besides, they understand Italy's motives far more than our other partners," Di Maio said in his briefing before the Italian Senate, according to Italian news agency AKI.

He further noted that the largest number of migrants arriving on the Italian coast set off from Tunisian shores.
