The Italian Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, announced that he intends to visit Libya on the sixth or seventh of April next, explaining that Italy’s position in Libya is to support the Government of National Unity to ensure elections are held next December and also to support the ceasefire.

Draghi said in a speech before the Italian Senate that Italy is defending its national interests in Libya and the Mediterranean, along with its international cooperation in the field of security with its strategic partners.
