The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Sayala, called on embassies which are operating from outside Libya in what he referred to as "Distant diplomacy" to join the Italian embassy and start their work from the capital Tripoli.

Sayala said in a press statement that he and Italian Foreign Minister Angelino Alfano held important discussions on issues of developing relations to implement agreements concluded between the two countries to achieve the best interest of the Libyan citizens.

Sayala stressed that among issues discussed with Alfano was the return of Italian flight lines to link Libyan airports with Italian cities after the first stage of facilitating European visas was made available to Libyans.
