The Italian Interior Minister, Luciana Lamorgese, arrived Monday in Libya's capital, Tripoli, and met with the Head of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, to reaffirm the significance of bilateral relations between Rome and Tripoli in all fields.

The meeting focused on the importance of cooperation between Libya and Italy in security and fighting illegal immigration as well as securing borders, as both officials reiterated the need to achieve development in immigration source countries to end this phenomenon.

Meanwhile, the Italian Interior Minister reaffirmed the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries and the need to activate joint agreements and partnerships, voicing hope that Libya and Italy would conduct more cooperation in different areas.
