Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, has reaffirmed his country's call for a cease-fire and a political solution in Libya within the framework of the Berlin process.

The Italian Foreign Ministry called in a statement after Di Maio’s meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament of Tobruk Aqila Saleh in Rome, for efforts to launch an inter-Libyan dialogue to reach a political solution.

The meeting of Di Maio and Saleh also dealt with the possibility of resuming oil exports. Di Maio indicated that the immediate resumption of oil production will have a positive impact on the Libyan economy and the future of political and security negotiations.
