The Italian Ambassador to Libya Giuseppe Perrone warned on Sunday about what he called “divisions and unregulated initiatives that will contribute to the return of the death boats”, in reference to the French initiative to resolve the Libyan crisis.
In an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Mattino, Perrone said that the aim is not to increase the commitments, but to implement what has been committed.
He explained that the action plan of the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame is the right path to take, adding "constitution, electoral law, security, and reconciliation should precede any elections ahead."
