The International Organization for Migration (IOM) renewed its call for the closing of Tajoura migrant shelter, after the killing of more than 50 migrants in an air raid conducted by Haftar's forces three months ago.

The head of the IOM mission in Libya, Federico Soda, called in a statement Tuesday, to end the arbitrary detention going on in the country in a gradual manner and to seek solutions for the suffering of thousands of migrants.

More than 6000 migrants were returned to Libya this year. Many were released in areas of armed conflict, according to the IOM.

Nearly 100,000 migrants remain at risk of abduction and trafficking by smugglers, it added.
