From May 22 to 28, 2022, around 727 migrants were rescued/intercepted at sea and returned to Libya by the Libyan Coast Guard, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) has confirmed.

In its weekly report, the organization indicated that the migrants were disembarked at landing points in Tripoli and Zawiya.

Since the start of 2022, a total of 7,067 migrants have been picked up from the Mediterranean and returned to the Libyan shores, including 6,245 men, 534 women, and 288 minors, while 138 drowned, and 462 migrants remain missing to date, according to the IOM.
