A study by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the World Food Program (WFP) showed that 75% of the migrants in Libya expressed their desire to remain in the country, while only quarter of them preferred to go home.

According to the 30-page study, the migrants pay around $ 700 to make the trip for Libya, noting that 40% of this amount is usually borrowed to provide the trip's costs' requirements.

The data also showed that one in four migrants spend a whole day without eating, noting that most of the migration motives are economic, followed by insecurity, persecution and conflict, as well as the limited ability to meet food needs.
