The Director of the Information Office of the Ministry of Health, Omar Maatouk, criticized Saturday the international organizations working in Libya for not complying with the decision made by the Ministry of Health, which requires the coordination of international organizations with the Ministry when providing support or assistance.

Maatouk explained in a press statement that the Ministry of Health met with international organizations more than once to notify them of the need to coordinate with the authorities, but the organizations "did not adhere".

He also added that the Ministry did not receive any response from the Prime Minister or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs despite addressing them on the violations committed by these organizations.

Maatouk’s statement comes hours after the International Organization for Migration (IOM) revealed that it provided assistance to more than 40,000 illegal immigrants in Libya in 2017.
