Interior Minister, Fathi Bashagha said that the ministry has a strong will to establish security in Tripoli and its suburbs, despite the circumstances resulting from Haftar's offensive against Tripoli.

In his meeting with UN Assistant Secretary-General for Security and Safety on Sunday, Bashagha called on the international community and the United Nations to support his ministry through the Government of National Acord (GNA), as the legitimate government of Libya.

He also assured the UN official that the security situation inside Tripoli is stable, pointing out that he sensed willingness on the part of police officers to prove their existence even under these circumstances.
