Interior Minister, Fathi Bashaga discussed with Minister of Transport, Milad Maatouq adopting a plan to secure Mitiga Airport, its staff and passengers, and to resume flights from the airport.

The meeting included the head of the Libyan intelligence service, the head of the aviation department, and a number of Libyan airlines companies.

Bashagha stressed the need to take steps in order to address the risks resulting from the repeated attacks, indicating that several civilians were injured and others suffered psychological effects, for which they required medical attention, not to mention the damage caused to some planes and the airport's facilities, including the passenger's terminal.

" These attacks are a cowardly act aimed at paralyzing the air traffic," he says.
